Capturing Media Moments: Our bread and butter is our ability to see media moments and capture them for our clients. We’re constantly like bloodhounds on the trail of a good clue — looking for media tie-ins or opportunities to bring new “experts” into national conversations. We work with groups who are creating change by taking on the establishment — and we love finding new ways to poke through the “media bubble” that reverberates out of DC!
Social and Digital Footprint: We have a long history in traditional media, but our staff are all “digital natives” — social media strategy comes naturally because it’s where we live and how we communicate. We know what succeeds, what fails, and what’s authentic — versus what will come off as staid and stale. We’re storytellers by nature, which opens up enormous social media opportunities — and we’re just as eager to move our clients into the pages of the Washington Post as into the pages of the blogosphere.
Advocacy and Activism: Many organizations try to pass or block legislation, but few have the guts to lay everything on the line for it. We’ve helped clients push through key pieces of legislation (including the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”) and to block horribly damaging policies (including the Keystone XL pipeline). We pay attention to the ever-shifting political landscape in order to best steer our clients toward messaging points and media opportunities that can rally public opinion for their cause and exert pressure on decision-makers.
Crisis Communication: We’ve dealt with everything from embarrassing photos to hostage situations — there’s nothing that can take us by surprise. By being nimble and quick-thinking, we’ve been able to help clients navigate all kinds of crisis situations and communications, and have the (virtual) Rolodex to be able to put a plan into action quickly.
